NATO wants world war, Ukrainian army shells Russian civilians: fakes and manipulations of foreign media on June 26
Ukraine's Centre for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian narratives that were launched by the world media on June 26
This was reported by Espreso TV.
According to the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, two disinformation stories were published on 26 June.
Disinformation: Irish journalist Chay Bowes wrote on his X page: "First NATO agitated for a needless War in Ukraine, determined to expand into Russia's backyard after promising not to NATO now wants to cause a World War by providing the corrupt Dictatorship Ukraine with US weapons to massacre Russian civilians. A "Defensive Alliance" indeed."
Counterpoint: The journalist deliberately spreads disinformation narratives aimed at justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine and demonizing Ukrainian allies who provide critical assistance to counter the Russian army.
Disinformation: Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar stated: "They targeted civilians... and that's why the Kremlin and everybody else is absolutely furious, because it goes far beyond allowing them to hit deep inside the Russian Federation, but to target civilians."
Refutation: The Ukrainian military strikes only Russian military targets. The claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack civilians in Russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine is aimed at demonizing the Ukrainian military and undermining the West's trust and support.
- Earlier, the Russian propaganda has launched a campaign to discredit Ukraine's state policy of developing nuclear energy, including the construction of new power units at the Khmelnytsky NPP.
