Losing people for ruins is strategically wrong: Ukraine's National Guard major on retreat in Chasiv Yar
Dmytro Kozhubenko, an officer of the planning section of the Rubizh brigade, Major of the Ukrainian National Guard, said that fierce fighting is taking place near Chasiv Yar
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"The enemy destroyed all defensive positions and everything that could help the Ukrainian Armed Forces to keep the defense in the Kanal area. Therefore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to move to more favorable positions. But in fact, this may even be for the best for us. It is strategically wrong to lose soldiers just for keeping the ruins, every life is priceless," said Kozhubenko.
According to him, Russia's scorched earth tactics, unfortunately, are working very well.
"Russian troops continue to methodically destroy the town of Chasiv Yar with KABs, FABs, artillery, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Electronic warfare systems are not always enough to protect units from unmanned aircraft. The fact is that the Russians are developing this area very quickly. They are modifying their drones, and our electronic warfare systems do not always cope with them. The enemy also uses the tactic of ;assault meat', throwing a large number of soldiers to accomplish their tasks. They have never counted their losses and are guided exclusively by old methods," he added.
- On July 3, Ruslan Mykula, co-founder and analyst of the DeepState project, noted that the Kanal neighborhood in Chasiv Yar was completely destroyed, and Russia had occupied it.
