North Korean troops in Ukraine show that Russia cannot win war on its own - SBU Major General
Viktor Yahun, Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (2014-2015), Major General of the SBU, military and public figure, believes that Russia is running out of steam to some extent
He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
“North Korea's participation in Russia's war against Ukraine confirms that Russia is unable to win on its own. Russia does not want to cross its internal “red lines”, in particular, to declare mobilization in large cities. It fears that this will cause social unrest. This confirms the thesis of a conceptual war between good and evil, a civilizational choice between authoritarianism and democracy. We hope the world will realize what a dangerous line we are on,” Yahun said.
According to him, the appearance of the North Korean military at the front is a serious challenge to the global security system.
“This is a violation of all UN resolutions that have ever been adopted on the DPRK. In fact, the DPRK is coming out of self-isolation through Russia and will now be able to support any plans to build up its military capabilities, including the creation of nuclear submarines that could threaten the United States and the possibility of producing small tactical nuclear weapons, as Budanov said. So this is quite serious. Although North Korean soldiers have not had combat experience since 1953, they obey orders and will definitely not run away from the front line,” Yahun said.
South Korea's reaction to the DPRK troops in Russia is impressive, says the SBU reserve major general.
“They are doing their best using their diplomatic capabilities. Western partners are also responding, but as we can see, Russia has allies, and we have partners. Russia has no restrictions: if they need missiles, they get them, if they need Shaheds, they get them, if they need ammunition and personnel, they are welcome. No one there thinks about whether it is possible to transfer military personnel or not, whether it is necessary to start working on increasing ammunition production, etc.” he summarized.
