Debris clearance continues at Dnipro Hydroelectric Station, no prospect of restoring power sections now - official
After the Russian missile attack on March 22, debris removal and dismantling are still underway at the Dnipro Hydroelectric Station (DniproHES) in Zaporizhzhia. There is currently no talk of restoring the power component of the hydroelectric power plant
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Water Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported.
He noted that it is currently impossible to talk about the timing of the restoration of the hydroelectric power plant, as the work on the dismantling of the damage caused by the missile attack has not yet been completed.
"We are currently clearing out the rubble after the missile attack that the enemy carried out on Dnipro Hydroelectric Station. Since the beginning of the year, more than 20 missiles have hit DniproHES, so the damage is extremely large, and today we are not talking about restoring the energy component at all," he said.
After the attack and destruction of the DniproHES road, instead of two lanes, only one is currently operating there. Therefore, this is now a priority for reconstruction, the head of the region said.
"Today, DniproHES operates in one lane of traffic in terms of logistics, whereas before it was two. We also see a trend that Ukrenergo is already signing contracts with contractors who will design the restoration and directly carry out this restoration, so it's too early to talk about the timing, but everyone is interested in intensifying and speeding up the work," said Fedorov.
