Propaganda agencies RIA Novosti and TASS also report that a criminal case for bribery has been initiated against Mirzaev.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, 52-year-old Mirzaev demanded RUB 140 million from a supplier of modules for rapidly constructed buildings and threatened to terminate a RUB 480 million contract if the money was not paid.
The channel claims that the supplier transferred the money to the general through an intermediary.
There are currently no official comments from the Russian authorities regarding this matter.
