Russia must be "put on its hind legs" so that their center of gravity shifts and they begin to retreat - Colonel Grant
British military expert, colonel of the reserve of the army of His Royal Majesty King Charles III Glen Grant, believes that it is important to resume the counterattacks and push back the Russian forces
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"Russia understands the possibility that the flames of this war will spill over to it. I'm not 100% sure that missile attacks will have an operational effect on the battlefield. Strategically, yes, and maybe it will start to turn more people against Putin, and it will finally dawn on him that he will lose. Operationally, there is a real problem if Putin decides to open more fronts, because he has a very large human resource compared to Ukraine, and if he does open a front in Belarus, it will absorb more Ukrainian resources, more Ukrainian people, Ukrainian soldiers in battle, which is bad for us. Therefore, it is important that counterattacks resume as soon as possible in order to push the Russian forces back," the reserve colonel emphasized.
Glen Grant noted that the Russian military is now very weak and their morale is almost zero, so they need to be struck now.
"By carrying out massive attacks on Ukraine, they buy time for themselves to think about their further actions, and this is not good for us. Russia must be "put on the hind legs" so that their center of gravity shifts back and they begin to retreat, not knowing what will happen further. That is why it is very important to coordinate airstrikes with ground attacks, because this is what confuses them and they do not understand what to expect next. The centralization of artillery and the centralization of strategic warfare must be completely connected with the battles on the front line, otherwise the proper result will not be achieved.
There needs to be stronger coordination in that regard, not just hitting tempting targets just because they beckon. There should be an effort to do something that opens up the front lines for combatant commanders. That needs to be a priority at this point because we have to start moving forward. If there is a delay during the winter, it will be to Russia's advantage because it will have time to mobilize more, train more and improve their quality. And we cannot allow this. They should keep walking away, or better yet, let them run away. This is our main task, not what we are doing at this time," Grant explained.
