This was stated by Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, broadcast by Espreso TV channel.

In his speech, Prime Minister Rutte said that Ukraine’s brave soldiers and civilians fought back with dignity. They have become a symbol of what a country and a people can do in the fight for their lives. He expressed deep appreciation for what the Ukrainians are doing.

He emphasized the Netherland’s solidarity with Ukraine and that it will support the country to the end. Because this is a war of aggression that is directed against everything the Netherlands value. Against democracy, against freedom, against peace. The Netherlands support Ukrainians, and they can count on its unwavering support, Rutte emphasized.

According to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Russia cannot win this war. And for all the crimes it has committed on the territory of Ukraine, it will be duly punished.

Rutte stated that the events unfolding in Ukraine are visible and acknowledged that The Hague, the global capital of justice, recognizes that justice is not easily achieved. He emphasized that the attainment of justice requires adequate power and resilience.

Rutte further pledged that the Netherlands would make every effort to furnish Ukraine with whatever support it requires at this critical juncture.

  • After a visit to Finland, the Ukrainian leader arrived in the Netherlands.

  • On Thursday, May 4, at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that he wants to see Russian dictator Vladimir Putin there.
