Russia attacks Ukraine with drones at night, air defense destroys 17 of 21 drones

Ukraine’s Air Force reported the information on Telegram.  

At midnight on May 13, 2023, Russia attacked Ukraine from the northern and southern directions with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs.

"A total of 21 launches were recorded. In different directions, 17 barrage munitions were destroyed using anti-aircraft missile weapons, fighters, and mobile fire groups. Unfortunately, enemy drones hit infrastructure facilities in the Khmelnytskyi region. Local authorities and services are working to eliminate the consequences," the Air Force wrote. 

They added that an Orlan-10 tactical UAV was also destroyed at night. In addition, over the past day, on May 12, air defense units destroyed 4 Lancet attack UAVs. The tactical aviation of the Air Force carried out dozens of sorties to engage the enemy and provide fighter air cover.

• In the morning of May 13, Russians hit a critical infrastructure facility in the Khmelnytskyi region, damaging houses and administrative buildings in the regional center, and injuring people.

• On the night of May 13, Russian drones also attacked the Kyiv region, air defense shot down all targets, a residential building was damaged by drone debris.
