Russia hits critical infrastructure facility in Khmelnytskyi region, blast waves damage buildings, injure 11 people
On the morning of May 13, Russian forces hit a critical infrastructure facility in the Khmelnytskyi region, damaging houses and administrative buildings in the regional center, and injuring people
A series of explosions were reported by the regional military administration.
"Today, during the air raid, the enemy attacked the Khmelnytskyi region. Unfortunately, we have an attack on critical infrastructure. The facility is located outside of the settlements," the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration wrote.
According to Khmelnytskyi Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn, as of 7:30 a.m., no hits were recorded in Khmelnytskyi.
"However, as a result of the terrorist attack, there was a hit to an object on the territory of one of the communities of the Khmelnytskyi district. The fire continues. The blast waves in Khmelnytskyi damaged educational institutions, medical facilities, administrative buildings, industrial facilities, multi-storey and individual residential buildings. There are injured and wounded residents of the community. The number is being clarified," Symchyshyn wrote.
First Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration Serhiy Tiurin said on the air of the national telethon that five people were wounded in the Russian attack. Later, Symchyshyn clarified that the number of victims had increased to 11.
Ukrzaliznytsia, a Ukrainian railway company, announced changes in the schedules of trains passing through Khmelnytskyi.
At about 04:25 a.m., two explosions were heard in the Lviv region, which sounded like an air defense operation.
At that time, an air alert was declared in almost all of Ukraine. However, there were no reports of danger in western Ukraine, particularly in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, and Zakarpattia regions.
The air alert in the Lviv region was announced later, around 05:05 a.m. After that, several explosions were heard in different parts of the region. Later, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that the sounds of explosions heard in different parts of the region were an echo of air defense operations in another region.

On the night of May 13, Mykolaiv came under Russian shelling, which resulted in a fire at an enterprise, a high-rise building and an educational institution, and injured three people.
