Recapture of Crimea will begin by cutting off all communication lines with Russia - military expert Zgurets
Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets is convinced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not plan an airborne operation to recapture Crimea
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"In southern Ukraine, Russian troops are digging trenches. The same applies to the occupied Crimea. The enemy is establishing defense lines there in an intense manner. However, these defense lines are designed to repel a large airborne operation, which is unlikely to be planned by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," explained Zgurets.
The expert believes that the first step for the recapture of Crimea is to destroy all communications of the peninsula with Russia.
"In order for Russian troops to make use of the trenches in the northern Crimea, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should plan an airborne operation. However, I understand that the issue of recapturing Crimea will be solved in a completely different way. In particular, all logistics routes with Russia will be cut. Then the Russian military grouping on the peninsula will be destroyed. Therefore, any landing operation is out of the question," he added.
- On November 10, OSINT investigator Benjamin Pittet released satellite images showing Russian soldiers digging new trenches in the northern part of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
