Putin may leave occupied territories: Russians no longer care about Crimea - political scientist Preobrazhensky
Russian political scientist Ivan Preobrazhensky believes that Russians will not revolt if Putin decides to leave Crimea.
He said this on Espreso TV.
“Putin is afraid for his life and for his power - this is his biggest fear. He already feels that he will suffer a military defeat. He is starting to look for workarounds. Talking about negotiations and about the release of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, he is trying to find a way to continue the war and suspend active military operations. If this plan does not succeed, he will look for other detours - perhaps an exit from the occupied territories. Because for him the main thing remains the retention of power in Russia. He will easily switch to preserving himself,” Preobrazhensky noted.
The Russian political scientist also added that Putin is still afraid of rebellion. That's why he brought the open bandits - Kadyrov and Prigozhin - closer to him.
“If Putin decides to leave Crimea, the Russians will not revolt. When entering the peninsula, a lot depends on the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the authorities of Ukraine. The Russians are sick of Crimea now. Putin has devalued the point that has been hammered into the heads of the Russians for a long time. The war destroyed the barriers that could lead Russians to talk about the loss of Crimea. If Putin does not hold Crimea by military means, then Russian society will not protest against him, and will take it for granted,” Preobrazhensky emphasized.
