One TV series costs as much as 150+ night drones that are critically needed at the front - Volunteer
Most volunteers are surprised that in the 10th year of the war, state funds are allocated for non-essential items
Olha Teslyak spoke about this in the program "War and Volunteers" hosted by the journalist of Espreso
"There is a war of drones and artillery going on now," says Olha Teslyak. "I generally believe that we should fight with equipment, not people. Technological progress has reached such a level that they are now fighting with drones. Most volunteers do not understand the marasmus of wasting money from the state budget on some non-priority items. Why not buy drones, equipment, and weapons from the state budget instead of making movies?"
Olha Teslyak says that the military has no big problems with daytime drones. What is critically needed are night drones.
"Today I spoke with two units I help with drones, vehicles and various equipment. They say that daytime drones still have some leftover, but nighttime drones - "thermals" - are critical," emphasizes Olha Teslyak, "because the Russians mostly fight at night. Let's do the math. The cheapest option for one night drone is 200 thousand UAH. For one million, you can buy five drones. And for one series - more than a hundred and fifty. These are huge amounts of money. And what is a drone? It saves lives. If the military picks up a drone, they destroy Russian equipment, manpower, and still save their own lives. That is, if they see what is happening a few kilometers away, they can react to it. They don't go on reconnaissance with manpower, they reconnoiter with drones. This is very important. And the amount of money that has been allocated for fountains, paths, parks, and pavements is terrible. In a country where the war has been going on for ten years, a full-scale war for a year and a half, they decide that the first priority is to build paths, fountains, and pavement. What do people need this for if our people are dying at the front every day?"
