Norway's Defense Chief believes Ukraine will not win war by military means
Norwegian Chief of Eirik Kristoffersen believes that Ukraine will not be able to win the war against Russia by military means
He shared his opinions in a comment to VG.
"I think there is no military solution to this conflict. In this case, it would take a very long time for one side to defeat the other, and this would have terrible consequences for people," Kristoffersen said.
However, the outlet notes that the Kristoffersen's conclusion contradicts the opinions of several other experts. In particular, Lieutenant Colonel Palle Ydstebø, head of the Land Forces Department at the Norwegian Military Academy, believes that the scenario of Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia is realistic.
"Ukraine can rely on the entire Western economy, while Russia has to be content with limited support from North Korea and Iran, as well as technological support from China," Ydstebø said.
He also believes that it is impossible to end the war at the negotiating table today.
"It will be a war to see who can hold out longer, and in the worst case, it will last for several years," Ydstebø emphasized.
