Scholz and Putin: conditions for peace remain unclear
Norway donates over EUR 7 billion to Ukraine, becoming one of world's largest donors
On Thursday, the Norwegian parliament approved the plan to donate 75 billion kroner (over EUR 7 billion) to Ukraine as part of a five-year support package

AP reports that this makes Norway one of the largest donors in the world.
Thus, 10 leaders of Norwegian parties supported the package. Only the socialist Red Party, which has eight seats in parliament, opposed the donation because part of the money was earmarked for weapons for Ukraine. No vote was taken.
The money will be evenly distributed between military and humanitarian aid over five years.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine a year ago was “the first attack on Europe since World War II,” Novergia's Prime Minister Gahr Støre said.
He added that the money came from oil revenues, and the donation should not affect the Norwegian economy.
“This is money out of Norway that we should not use or would not use in Norway right now,” he added.
