Russia hopes electoral spam will see Sandu defeated in Moldovan elections - journalist Prisyazhnyuk
Marianna Prysiazhniuk, an international journalist and expert at the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, spoke about the presidential election in Moldova
She shared her opinins with Espreso TV.
‘"The undisputed leader of the previous forecasts and sociological studies was the current president, Maia Sandu. Sandu embodies the pro-European movement and, accordingly, she has the support of her party, administrative resources and all the possible support she can provide herself while in office. On the other hand, we have 9 candidates, in fact, electronic spam, which is supported by the Russian Federation to one degree or another. And the intrigue of the election campaign was who would be the only candidate and whether there would be a single candidate at all, who would represent the pro-Russian course," she said.
The journalist noted that there is still intrigue as to whether the candidate will make it to the second round.
"In general, the emphasis has shifted towards the end of the election campaign, so the intrigue remains, so to speak, whether there will be a second round. Because there should be a confident victory of the candidate in the first round, who would get more than 50% and a few percent preliminary separates Maia Sandu from this result, from such a success and probably such a success as last time will not be repeated," said Marianna Prisazhnyuk.
