Russia launches disinfo in Europe to stop Ukrainian refugees from returning - Ukraine’s intelligence
Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Head of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, has stated that Russia is preparing new anti-Ukrainian disinformation operations in European countries. The aim is to convince Ukrainians who left their country due to the war not to return
He made this statement during a discussion at the New Country project on August 21.
According to Skibitskyi, Russia is already implementing these tactics within the EU. For instance, in Italy, Russians are utilizing their allies - journalists from Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine - to justify the Russian genocidal war.
“These include presentations of various ‘fiction and documentary’ books allegedly about Ukraine's crimes in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Skibitskyi said.
He also noted that Russians are actively working with Ukrainians who have fled to European countries due to the war. This includes establishing various societies, educational programs for children, and churches.
“This is being used to make our Ukrainians lose their identity and, even more so, to prevent them from ever returning home,” Skibitskyi explained.
