Ukrainian forces inflict significant losses on Russian troops in Kupyansk direction - 14th Brigade

"The Russian troops are trying to attack. We have analysed and arrived at conclusions regarding the enemy's actions. For some time - a day, two days, there were about 15 enemy attacks. When the Russians suffer significant losses of personnel and equipment, they retreat, regroup, replenish their supplies and ammunition. Currently, there are no more than 3-5-7 attacks taking place each day. We are currently experiencing such a period in the Kupyansk direction because the Ukrainian Defense Forces have inflicted significant losses on the enemy," emphasized Zamryha.

According to the public relations head of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Ukrainian defenders expect the Russian troops to reinforce their forces and increase attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Kupyansk direction.

"There are a lot of Russian personnel. In one day, our unit alone eliminates up to 35 people, and more than 60 are wounded. This means that the invaders are suffering significant losses, but they still have reserves. The Russians are attacking wave after wave, dying, but replenishing their reserves again. The enemy does not spare its human resources," Zamryha noted.

• According to the US Institute for the Study of War, on December 31, Ukrainian forces advanced southeast of Kupyansk and continued positional fighting with Russian troops along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line.
• Over the past day, January 4, the Ukrainian defense forces eliminated 790 Russian soldiers, destroyed 30 Russian artillery systems and 14 armored combat vehicles.
