Why Russia chooses ballistic missile strikes: Ukrainian Armed Forces explain
Russia has chosen the tactics of ballistic attacks on Ukraine from Crimea. The Armed Forces noted the peculiarities of ballistic missile weapons that explain the Russian tactics
Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, said this during a telethon.
"Russia has chosen the tactic of using ballistic missiles from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. These are different platforms. First of all, of course, it is Iskander-M," he said.
According to Pletenchuk, such tactics of the Russian Federation are primarily explained by the peculiarities of ballistic weapons.
"This platform is mobile, it's movable, so the time to deploy it is short, it takes minutes, and the time to fold it is even less. Therefore, they have chosen to use ballistic missiles now, as the speed is different and the reaction time is shorter," the spokesman explained.
Therefore, the danger lies primarily in the use of missile weapons from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, Pletenchuk added.
