Ukraine readies to test domestically made aerial bombs
Serhii Holubotsov, Chief of Aviation of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, announced that Ukraine will start testing domestically produced guided aerial bombs (KABs) in a few weeks
He said this in an interview with Radio Liberty on June 9.
Holubotsov mentioned that Ukraine is also developing high-precision kits for Soviet aerial bombs to increase their range and accuracy. Tests for these Ukrainian-made guided aerial bombs are set to begin soon. If successful and mass-produced, these bombs will be used more intensively at the front.
However, according to Holubotsov, the most important test for the specialists now is the correct selection of transmitters, GPS module, and wing.
Additionally, Ukrainian KABs need to have a high level of protection against Russian electronic warfare systems to maintain accuracy against Russian targets. The aircraft carrying these bombs must be upgraded to partially integrate the bombs into their weapon control systems.
