Advisor to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriushchenko says Russian OMON (Special Purposes Mobile Unit) are intensifying patrolling and mobilization activities in the city
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Mariupol is under the increased control of the St. Petersburg OMON. They are permanently based in the city. There are also the Russian Guard and Kadyrov mercenaries in the city. They are all based on the territory of the Ilyich plant. They are engaged in controlling the city and escorting. In particular, they escort trucks disguised as civilian trucks that transport ammunition to Berdyansk and vice versa," said Andriushchenko.
According to Andriushchenko, Russia has intensified mobilization activities.
"OMON and Russian Guard are also involved in mobilization activities on the territory of Mariupol and are targeting those they call migrants. They are looking for migrants in high-rise buildings and private homes, who are then taken to the military commissariat. After that, these migrants strangely disappear," he added.
