The Luxembourg company Artec3D handed over 30 Artec Leo wireless scanners to Ukrainian criminal investigators. The total amount of cargo paid by the Luxembourg Ministry of Defense is more than one million euros.
The head of Artec3D, Artem Yukhin, in a comment to the newspaper, claims that the scanners are already used by police and criminal investigators in America, Japan and Canada. The device must be pointed at objects or scanning surfaces, then the three-dimensional image is transferred to the laptop. The device is used to reconstruct skulls from bone fragments, manufacture individual prostheses, and even to determine the speed of a car involved in an accident.
"Now they are going to Ukraine to document war crimes there," Yukhin notes.
