Ukrainian MP Mykola Knyazhytskyi made the statements at the Via Carpatia forum, broadcast by Espreso TV.
"How is the time of Baturyn events different from the present? Now we have the Internet and video technology. A lot of people did not know what happened in Baturyn. They may have heard, imagined, but did not see this horror," he noted.
The lawmaker emphasized that now people can see the horrors of war.
"In the information age, there is a very great chance for us, supporting democratic values, to still build a strong democratic Ukraine, if we profess these values and join others. The communication channels are open. It is precisely because these channels were blocked that Russia managed to invade us all the time," concluded Knyazhytskyi.
