Germany may make decision on supplying tanks to Ukraine within next few days
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius says a decision on the supply of tanks will be made within the next few days
The German minister said this in an interview with the ARD channel, Spiegel quotes.
“I am almost certain that we will receive a decision on this within the next few days. I cannot tell you today what it will look like,” Boris Pistorius said.
He also noted that the supply of German-made tanks to Ukraine doesn't depend on a similar step by the US to send its M1 Abrams tanks.
“I don't know anything about such a connection,” he said in response to a question whether the supply of American Abrams main battle tanks to Ukraine is a condition for a possible shipment of German tanks.
Pistorius added that Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed the issue of Germany's supply of tanks without the US and President Joe Biden.
