Poland is ready to provide Ukraine with 14 Leopard tanks and hopes that other NATO countries will follow its example and will be able to assemble at least an armored brigade
Polish President Andrzej Duda said this on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, his office reports.
"We are gathering a community of countries that will provide Ukraine with Leopard tanks. I hope that our allies will join us and we will be able to form at least an armored brigade," he said.
In turn, official Warsaw intends to transfer 14 Leopards to Ukraine.
"Five days ago we announced the transfer of Leopard. We are talking about about 14 tanks," Duda said.
It is worth noting that an armored brigade is at least 90 tanks.
- Germany may decide to transfer Leopards to Ukraine as early as this week.
- Finland may transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine if other countries do it first and a corresponding project to help Ukraine at the European level is launched
