Ex-President of Ukrine Poroshenko provides artillery equipment, military cargo to eastern front
Petro Poroshenko, former Ukrainian president, supplied 4 DAF trucks and 4 bath and laundry complexes to the 45th Artillery Brigade
On his YouTube channel, Poroshenko also said that tomorrow he is bringing a new batch of equipment worth more than UAH 20 million to the eastern front.
"Today we have a lot of military equipment here because we are preparing for a big trip to the eastern front. We are sending some of it to our artillerymen right now. The guys ordered a lot of equipment and came to pick it up themselves. They have examined it, checked it out. It drives, pulls, lifts, hums, clicks, switches, and turns," Poroshenko said.
He also spoke about an upcoming trip to eastern Ukraine, where they will bring equipment for the army.
"Three Foden trucks, a tire service, a car repair station, two Poseidon UAV control systems, three DAF trucks. See you in the east. Let's keep working," Petro Poroshenko said.
Among the trucks in the fleet, one is outfitted with a crane-manipulator, a feature that facilitates the swift transportation of shells to the front lines. Ordinarily, the personnel are tasked with manually transporting numerous shells, making the provision of such equipment understandably appreciated by the artillery personnel.
"These trucks will be of great use to us. A truck with a multi-lift means loading and unloading shells and ammunition. This is a significant undertaking. One shell weighs 50 kg, and there are a lot of such shells to be loaded and unloaded. That's why every unit to optimize the work, like this manipulator, will be useful and will go into good hands. Moreover, its presence will also expedite the process of neutralizing the enemy," says the soldier.
"We use the trucks for the rear, to bring people food, to bring ammunition, to transport guns, and to organize all the logistics. The guys have enough work to do. We, in turn, are trying to do everything for them to make their life easier and they feel the support that the rear should provide for combat units," says the brigade representative.
His fellow soldier adds that creating comfortable and modern conditions for the rest of the military coming off the front line is of great importance. People will be able to quickly wash and launder their clothes.
"This complex is well thought out, well equipped, and practical. Its capacity in terms of water and washing machines allows one division to wash and launder without any problems. The guys still come for rotation. This is a very practical, good thing for them on those days when they are on rotation," he says.
The soldiers presented Poroshenko with a commemorative thank-you note from the brigade, as well as a shell casing.
"This is a casing from a shell that flew in the right direction and did its job. This shell was fired at the beginning of the war in 2022 from one of our guns," the guys said.
"From our perspective, it veered precisely as intended, catching the Russians off-guard with a notable "oops" – perhaps even a substantial one," Poroshenko added.
