Erdogan had conversation with Putin and urged him to meet Zelensky
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul

The Liaison Department of the Presidential Administration of Turkey informed that during the April 26 conversation, Erdogan again proposed to hold a meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine as "an important stage in the Istanbul negotiation process". He assured that Ankara is ready to continue "to make a feasible contribution to ensuring long-term peace between the Russian Federation and Ukraine".
Also, Erdogan, in a conversation with Putin, said that "maintaining a positive attitude towards peace between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, which emerged during the negotiations in Istanbul", is in the interests of all parties.
In addition, Erdogan emphasized the importance of a ceasefire, the effectiveness of humanitarian corridors and safe evacuation from war zones.
