Demonstrations in support of Ukraine take place in Rome and Milan
Thousands joined marches in Italian cities. In Rome demonstrators gathered to support peace, and in Milan to support the Ukrainians and their resistance
This is reported by La Stampa.
It is noted that the "Europe for Peace" action in Rome was joined by trade unions, public and religious associations, the Italian Peace and Disarmament Network, the Community of Sant'egidio, Greenpeace and other public organizations.
The rally in the capital of Italy was positioned as non-political. However, the center-left Democratic Party (PD) and the populist Five Star Movement (M5S) leaders Enrico Letta and Giuseppe Conte, respectively, participated in the event.
Giuseppe Conte believes that peace should be "built by understanding the reasons of others, also taking into account the interests of Russia."
Meanwhile, at the "Glory to Ukraine" demonstration in Milan, activists urged "to support the Ukrainian people and their resistance, to confirm that peace cannot be achieved by surrender."
