British intelligence explains why Russia stopped launching Iranian drones from occupied Crimea
Russians changed locations of Iranian drones’ launch from Crimea to Krasnodar due to the vulnerability of the occupied peninsula
British Ministry of Defense reports on Twitter.
British intelligence draws attention to the fact that in recent days, Russians have increased intensity of long-range strikes on critical infrastructure of Ukraine.
The wave of attacks consisted mainly of air and sea-launched cruise missiles, but almost certainly also included Iranian-provided drones launched from Russia's Krasnodar region.
"Previously these UAVs had been primarily launched from locations within occupied Crimea. The change of launch site is likely due to Russian concerns about the vulnerability of Crimea, while it is also convenient for resupply from the weapons’ likely arrival point in Russia, at Astrakhan," British intelligence concluded.
