Block both Nord Streams and all Russian exports: Poroshenko tells Canadian TV how to stop Putin
Petro Poroshenko says it is time for a total International embargo on Russian exports
The politician said this in an interview with the Canadian television channel CBC News. The corresponding video appeared on his Facebook.
"First, don't trust Putin. And that means no negotiations with Putin, because he only understands force. He will continue to blackmail the world. He will blackmail Canada. He will blackmail Europe," he emphasized.
"For him, energy carriers are just a tool and one of the pillars of his attack against the whole world. That's why you can't agree to his blackmail language," Poroshenko added.
"The second piece of advice is don't be afraid of Putin. We are much stronger. The truth is on our side. The whole world is with us today. Along with Russia, only North Korea, Belarus and Eritrea vote during the sessions of the UN General Assembly. Three nations in the world. And that's why we should ensure the deputization of the world," the fifth president of Ukraine emphasized.
"We should finally completely stop Nord Stream 1. Completely forget about Nord Stream 2.
Every cent the world pays for Russian gas or Russian oil turns into bombs and cruise missiles against us, against Ukrainians," - Poroshenko noted.
"We should not give him even the slightest opportunity to continue doing this. And therefore, on the contrary, sanctions should be strengthened, the embargo should be expanded. Russian exports should be stopped, especially those where its merchant ships are used for these needs," he emphasized.
Poroshenko noted that only in the last three months, 24 billion dollars have entered the Russian treasury, and this is only for Russian energy carriers.
"24 billion. This is too much. It should finally be stopped," he added.
