13 settlements flooded in Mykolaiv region, one person killed - Regional Council member
Viktoriia Moskalenko, a member of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, reports that 540 houses in the Mykolaiv region are completely flooded, with about 4,000 households affected
She said this on Espreso TV.
“In the Mykolaiv region, 13 settlements located next to the Kherson region are suffering from flooding. This is the area of our long-suffering Snihurivka, which has been under occupation for 9 months. The district center itself was not flooded, but 5 wells that supply Snihurivka with drinking water were flooded. I should note that only after the de-occupation was the water supply restored, and now people are without water again,” said the deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.
Viktoriia Moskalenko added that aid is constantly being provided to Snihurivka and the district. Water, hot food, generators for electricity are being brought in, because there are people who refuse to evacuate and stay in the middle of the field, saying that they have survived the occupation and will survive the flood.
“In the settlements of the Mykolaiv region, 540 houses are completely flooded. And if we take the total number of victims and those places where we cannot get to, we will have about 4,000 households. We have evacuated 680 people, including 123 children, from the flooded area. One person has died since the flooding, because he refused to evacuate; the deceased's house was in a place of rapid flooding, so unfortunately, a man in his 50s died,” Moskalenko said.
