Percentage of Russian weapons with US components is unacceptably high - White House
The White House has recorded an “alarming” number of Russian weapons containing electronic components from the United States and allied countries
White House National Security Advisor for International Economics Daleep Singh reports, Bloomberg writes.
“The percentage of Russian battlefield weaponry with US or allied branded components is alarmingly and unacceptably high,” said the advisor and called on the companies to stop the flow of parts used in the war in Ukraine.
“Put your creativity and resources to work, know your customers, know their customers, and know the end users. Ensure that American firms are not unwitting cogs in Russia’s arsenal of autocracy,” Daleep Singh addressed American companies.
It is noted that export control, which is aimed at the movement of goods rather than financial transactions, is difficult to enforce because manufacturers do not have large internal control departments, which have emerged in the banking sector over the past two decades of US sanctions policy.
