Bundestag proposes to buy weapons from U.S. to supply Ukraine
On Tuesday, April 9, the head of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, Michael Roth, offered to support Ukraine by purchasing the necessary weapons from the U.S. and supplying them to the front in Ukraine
n-tv reported the information.
"Of course, Ukraine did not lose the war. But it would have lost the war if we did not continue to support Ukraine with everything necessary," he said.
According to him, it is obvious that recently Russia has focused "on destruction, not on diplomacy."
"Russia wants to destroy this country, and what we experienced in Mariupol is what we are experiencing now in Kharkiv," the politician added, noting that Ukraine has been waiting in vain for help from the United States since last fall.
He called on the international community to speed up decision-making regarding support for Ukraine.
"Therefore, I urge all of us in Europe to find pragmatic and quick solutions. And if Ukraine needs greater air defense, then we need to look into our own arsenals. For example, what else can we, as Europeans, supply when it comes to the Patriot? And if necessary, we must buy what Ukraine needs from the US and quickly provide it to Ukraine," Roth emphasized.
