We regret not attacking earlier: Putin on war in Ukraine
Russian leader Vladimir Putin says he regrets not attacking Ukraine earlier
He said this in an interview with the host of the Rossiya 1 TV channel Pavel Zarubin, which was published on Wednesday, Radio Liberty reports.
"The only thing we can regret is that we didn't take action sooner," he said.
The interview concerned mainly Putin's conversation with American journalist Tucker Carlson, which took place on February 6. Commenting on the outcome of the conversation and the viewers' reaction to it, the Russian dictator called Carlson a "dangerous person" who had specifically chosen this tactic to avoid hearing "sharp answers" during the conversation.
In addition, responding to Zarubin's remark about Carlson's alleged arrest in the United States, Putin said that "it would be good" because then “the liberal democratic dictatorship, which is clearly represented in today's ruling class in America, would show its true face.”
- In the same interview, Putin said that Joe Biden is more beneficial to Russia than Donald Trump because he is more experienced and predictable.
