Victory of Iranian people will overturn dictators’ table
Now is the time to discard conventionalities and support Iranians as much as democracies can
The world was different in 2019 when there were protests in Iran.
The US and the rest of the democracies were divided by Trump's withdrawal from the nuclear deal.
The EU, Canada and the United Kingdom were busy getting Iran back to the negotiating table.
And the protests themselves lasted less than a week.
Now the position of democracies is united, Iranian threat has many dimensions and even more consequences, and revolution has been going on for three months.
Victory of Iranian people will overturn dictators’ table.
Maybe it's time to discard conventionalities and support Iranians as much as democracies can.
At the very least, it would be good to start by strengthening and expanding sanctions, improving coordination in this area, and introducing diplomatic boycott, which revolutionaries have been begging for a long time from all available platforms.
Many representatives of Iranian regime and members of their families can still freely enjoy the benefits of civilization. At the same time when Iranian drones are killing Ukrainians, and regime forces are killing Iranian children.
What does not allow them to be sanctioned is not a right. It is injustice.
