This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on October 31.

Russian propagandists claimed that Ukrainian troops, as of October 31, were both holding positions and advancing on the left bank of the Kherson region. In addition to this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were still maintaining positions in Krynky, near the Antonivsky roadway, and the railway bridges.

According to propagandists, fighting is ongoing near Krynky and the Antonivsky Railway Bridge, with Ukrainian forces attempting to breach Russian defenses near Pishchanivka and Poyma.

Kherson region operation

The Ukrainian military launched an operation on the left bank of the Kherson region on September 14 and 15. Their objective was to secure positions and prepare for an offensive on the left bank of the Kherson region after crossing the Dnipro River. The Russians had claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been preparing to cross the Dnipro since July.

On September 20, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported new footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro.

The ISW suggested that units from two Ukrainian marine brigades likely crossed the Dnipro River on October 17-18 and landed on the left bank of the river in the Kherson region.

On October 20, ISW stated that Ukrainian offensives on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region appeared to be larger in scale than previous operations. Geolocation data indicated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces maintained a presence along the Dnipro River coastline and near the Antonivsky Bridge. On the same day, President Zelenskyy visited the Kherson region, where he conducted a meeting and presented awards.

ISW reported on October 21 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were continuing larger-than-usual ground operations on the left bank of the Kherson region. Specifically, Ukrainian forces were engaged in combat in the village of Krynky.

Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint coordination press center of the Southern Defense Forces, noted that in order to improve conditions on the right bank of the Dnipro, it was necessary to clear part of the left bank, which was still under fire from Russian invaders.
