Felix and Me, a debut film by director Iryna Tsilyk based on the novel Who Are You by writer and soldier Artem Chekh, is now available for online rental
The director herself reported this on Facebook.
The feature film debut of Ukrainian director Iryna Tsilyk, Felix and Me, became available on Netflix on June 12.
"The film Felix and Me is being released online today. First of all, on Netflix. Yes, this is only for Ukraine. There are also other streaming services, which I will write about separately," said Tsilyk.
She announced that later this summer the film will also appear on another platform, where it will be available for many other countries.
The film tells the story of a young boy Tymofii growing up in the 1990s. The plot focuses on his relationships with his family, friends, first love, and with Felix, a former counterintelligence officer who served during the war in Afghanistan.
The film is based on the book Who Are You? by Ukrainian writer and soldier Artem Chekh, who is the director's husband.
The main roles were played by Andrii Cherednyk, the son of the director and author of the book Who Are You? and Yurii Izdryk, a Ukrainian writer and poet. The film also stars Volodymyr Hladkyi, Andrii Isaienko, Anastasia Karpenko, and others.
