Сombination of Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar cultures: singer Jamala presents mini-album
Ukrainian singer Jamala released a new mini-album, "Poklyk" (the Call), which included 4 compositions in Ukrainian and English
The artist announced this on Facebook.
Jamala recorded the new release in various parts of Europe, where she was and performed at events supporting Ukraine.
"During this year, many of us heard our calling. Fight. Save. Love. The mini-album was recorded in different parts of the planet, but mentally I was always at home. For me, this record is full of warm feelings for brave people who tirelessly fight for their own will and great culture all their lives," the singer said.
The new album contains four compositions: "Take Me To A Place", "Zakohana", "Be brave, be different", "Synu". In the mini-album "Poklyk", you can hear the Crimean Tatar instrument dâyere and folk singing. One of the songs was written to a poem by Ukrainian dissident poet Vasyl Symonenko.
The singer announced her performance and mini-album presentation in Kyiv.
"I am thrilled to share the new mini-album with everyone, and on November 5, I would like to play it for you for the first time at the Khanenko Museum, which was destroyed by the shelling of Kyiv. Together we will hold a chamber charity live concert.
Only 50 tickets, but each of them is 100% donation," Jamala shared.
The presentation of the album will also take place in Poland: on November 13, the singer will perform in Warsaw, and on November 15 - in Krakow.
