Throughout the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, mobile groups and other units of support forces and means have recorded 815 cases of Russian use of ammunition equipped with toxic chemicals. In January 2024, 229 such cases were recorded.
"Most often, Russia uses grenades such as K-51, RGR, RG-VO, which contain the dangerous chemical CS, prohibited for warfare (hostilities) by Article 1, paragraph 5, of the Chemical Weapons Convention," the statement says.
It is emphasized that the radiation, chemical and bacteriological reconnaissance units are taking samples of soil, vegetation and ammunition fragments for analysis.
The documented facts of Russia's use of hazardous chemicals are being handed over to investigative authorities for investigation within the framework of open criminal proceedings.
