Russia attacks Kizomys, Kherson region: 60-year-old man killed, one injured
Today, on April 29, the Russian army shelled the village of Kizomys, Kherson region, killing a 60-year-old local resident by causing him to sustain life-threatening injuries. Prosecutor's Office launches investigation into violation of laws and customs of war
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, and the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
At 12:24 p.m., Prokudin informed that the Russian armed forces attacked Kizomys, shelling people's houses. A 60-year-old man who was in his garden was injured and sustained an explosive injury and a leg wound due to Russian aggression.
"A 60-year-old local resident was seriously injured. Unfortunately, the wounds were fatal. The man's heart stopped on the way to the hospital," the head of the Regional Military Administration later wrote.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office announced the start of a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings over violations of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"According to the investigation, on April 29, at about 11:30 a.m., the Russian army once again fired at one of the settlements of the Bilozerka community. Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement officers, are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian armed forces," the prosecutor's office said.
Later, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that a 37-year-old man was also wounded in the shelling.
"The 37-year-old man sustained an explosive injury, shrapnel wounds to his forearm and torso, as well as a fractured rib and limb," the statement said.
