UAV attack on Chechnya university may signal internal conflict in Russia - Defense Express
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi has commented on the recent UAV attack on the Russian Special Forces University in Chechnya
He spoke about it on Espreso TV.
Kyrychevskyi noted, "Theoretically, our drones could reach Chechnya to strike the Special Forces University in Gudermes, as it's about 1,000 km away. However, a more critical target in the region is the Mozdok military air base, where Tu-95MS bombers have been based since Soviet times. It's currently being used for MiG-31s and Tu-22M3s."
Kyrychevskyi emphasized that there are more significant threats among Kadyrov's forces than the so-called university.
"Given the university's limited importance, even a distillery could be a more relevant target. Other types of drones might have been involved in this attack, possibly linked to internal Russian conflicts. The Wagner Group rebellion has become somewhat routine for them, so we can expect any number of actions from different factions. They seem to believe that if Putin were to leave, there would be internal conflicts, and it appears those conflicts have already begun, even while he remains in power," he added.
