This is disrespect for military — serviceman Buniak on Zaluzhnyi’s potential dismissal

Ukrainian serviceman Stepan Bunyak regards the fluctuating information concerning the potential dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, as disrespectful to both the military and society

The deputy commander of the motorized infantry battalion for weapons in the 24th King Danylo Mechanized Brigade and a member of the Lviv Regional Council said this in a comment to Espreso TV.

"This is a ‘seesaw,’ these are actions to divide society, to impose another topic that is perceived absolutely ambiguously. And my opinion is that the majority of society, the vast majority of the military support the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Zaluzhnyi. I also absolutely support him and would simply advise the authorities, who are not competent in military affairs and command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, not to interfere with those mechanisms that are effective and give a worthy rebuff to the enemy," he said.

The serviceman believes that the government has many other areas where it should act. In particular, he refers to diplomacy, the state's economy, as well as the manufacturing and reproduction of new weapons.

"The military should be left alone and allowed to work," says Buniak.

However, he adds that no matter what decision is made, the military is doing its job properly: "The army will not abandon its positions, the army will still defend Ukraine and the Ukrainian land, restore the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state. No matter what our government does, the army will not leave its positions, but will fight the enemy."

Simultaneously, Stepan Buniak deems the actions of the authorities and the resultant societal unrest as highly detrimental.

"This is just disrespect for the military, starting from the commander-in-chief to the soldier. The government should not do this to the defenders of Ukraine. This is simply unworthy behavior," he notes. "A concrete solution is not to interfere in military affairs with people who are not competent in military affairs. These bloggers, all the rest - this is their level. Let them stay at that level. And do not interfere in the affairs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
