Russia prepares for large-scale mobilization, conscripts to join front lines - Mariupol mayor's advisor
Mariupol mayor's advisor Petro Andriushchenko believes that Russian conscripts will replace contractors. Conscription in Russia is scheduled for October
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Conscription in Russia is scheduled for October. And we can say that conscripts will definitely end up at the front. Conscripts will replace contract soldiers, as the number of signed contracts is decreasing. Despite the fact that we are now recording another surge in military advertising in the occupied territory of Donetsk region, there are virtually no people willing to join the army. This is not only a trend related to the occupied Donetsk region," noted Andriushchenko.
According to an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, there is insider information that Russia is preparing a large-scale mobilization.
"There are even confirmed facts when a person, having changed his place of residence, came from Russia to Mariupol, registered for military service, and will be drafted into the Russian army again. This indicates that the Russians are actually preparing for a large conscription, which will try to close the gaps," Andriushchenko emphasized.
- The Russian army is experiencing a shortage of soldiers amid the highest losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. As a result, the Russian authorities may announce a new wave of mobilization.
