Russia destroyed 80% of Ukrainian thermal power plants in recent weeks
Massive Russian missile attacks in Ukraine have destroyed 80% of thermal power plants. Authorities are looking for equipment to repair facilities
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in an interview with ERR.
"Unfortunately, Russia continues its energy terror - in recent weeks alone, the Russians have destroyed more than six gigawatts of our power grid capacity. This includes hydropower and coal power. They (the Russian army - ed.) continue to hit our energy facilities with missiles, and destroy transformers and generators. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, Russia has destroyed 80 percent of thermal power plants," the Prime Minister said.
According to him, Estonia has old Soviet-type equipment, and Ukraine would very much like to receive these spare parts, which will allow it to repair the power plant units damaged by shelling.
Ukraine is also working with its partners to create a decentralized energy supply system for the population.
