Russia to have opportunity window regardless of U.S. election outcome, expert warns
Serhiy Zgurets, a military expert and CEO of Defense Express, notes that the U.S. presidential transition period will provide Russia with an opportunity to apply pressure on the frontline, regardless of the election outcome
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"In the U.S., epoch-making events are unfolding that will affect the review of certain initiatives worldwide. We understand how important American financial, military, and defense-industrial aid is for Ukraine. The specifics of this cooperation will depend on who becomes the U.S. president," noted Zgurets.
According to the military expert, several packages of U.S. military aid have already been announced, ensuring some stability and the continued supply of weapons to Ukraine, as well as the replenishment of arms that the U.S. military is transferring from its reserves to Ukraine.
The expert added that Ukraine's main challenges will arise in the coming months. After all, regardless of who wins in the United States, there will be a period of uncertainty until the inauguration on January 20 next year, and during this time, Ukraine can hardly expect important initiatives from the American side.
“This provides a window of opportunity for our enemy to exert pressure on the frontline, realizing that no powerful initiatives will be implemented by the United States at this stage. This creates additional threats for Ukraine in the course of combat operations with Russia,” Zgurets emphasized.
