Russia switches narratives on Mariupol Drama Theater airstrike - Center for Countering Disinformation
Russian propagandists are spreading new fake stories about the airstrike on the Mariupol Drama Theater, but UK human rights activists reject these accounts as distortion and disinformation
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation on Telegram.
After the airstrike on the drama theater, where there were civilians, the Russians claimed that it was blown up from the inside by fighters of the Azov Regiment, who had equipped firing points there. The Russian invaders also said that in Mariupol, the Russian aviation did not perform any tasks within the city limits.
"Now the Russians are conducting tours of the ruins of the Mariupol Drama Theater together with "experts", who claim that the explosion in the drama theater took place from the inside on the lowest level of the building; not 300, but 14 people died then", the Center under the Council of National Security and Defense noted.
British human rights activists Amnesty International conducted a large-scale investigation into the Russian shelling of the drama theater and found that there was no evidence of explosives being stored in the building, and that the targeted airstrike with two 500-kilogram FAB bombs was launched by a Russian fighter jet. Also, to complicate the counting of the dead, the invaders buried them in a mass grave.
"In order to "whitewash" the reputation of the Russian invaders, there is a massive influence of Russian propaganda on the domestic consumer", the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized.
