134 clashes occur at front on Jan. 31: Ukrainian troops repel 61 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Over the past day, January 31, 134 combat clashes took place at the front. Ukrainian troops halted 61 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk direction

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information as of 8:00 a.m. on February 1.

“Yesterday, the Russian aggressor launched four missile strikes using five missiles and 54 air strikes, including 105 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out more than 6,200 attacks, 136 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used about 2,018 'kamikaze' drones to attack," the General Staff said.

They added that yesterday the missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit two areas of concentration of Russian trops, one air defense system, four artillery systems, and three control points.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, two hostile attacks took place in the vicinity of Vovchansk yesterday.

In the Kupyansk direction, six Russian attacks occurred over the last day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the Russian assault in the areas of Lozova, Bohuslavka, Pishchane, Petropavlivka and Zahryzove.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian forces attacked 11 times. They tried to advance near Zelena Dolyna, Novomykhailivka, Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, Yampolivka and Kolodiazi.

In the Siversk direction, the Russian invaders tried to force the Ukrainian troops from their positions near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske and Spirne six times yesterday. They were not successful.

In the Kramatorsk direction, five assault actions took place in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Bila Hora and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian troops made ten attacks in the area of Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 61 aggressor's attacks towards Mashivka, Yelizavetivka, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Novoandriivka, Oleksiivka, Uspenivka, Andriivka, Dachne and Ulakly.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces defeated nine Russian attacks. The Russians concentrated their offensive efforts in the vicinity of Kostiantynopil and Rozdolne.

In the Huliaipole direction, the Russian forces, supported by attack and bomber aircraft, tried to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the vicinity of Novopil and Novosilka twice without success.

In the Orikhiv direction, near Novodanylivka, the invaders made one unsuccessful assault on the Ukrainian defenders' positions.

In the Pridniprovskyi direction, Russian aggressors attacked Ukrainian positions four times. Having suffered losses, they retreated.

In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders fought off 12 Russian attacks yesterday, the Russian aggressor fired 347 artillery shells, eight of them from multiple launch rocket systems, and carried out 20 air strikes, dropping 29 guided bombs.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively shelling Ukrainian settlements using artillery from within Russian territory.

  • During the last day of January, Ukraine's Defense Forces eliminated 1,430 Russian soldiers and nearly 300 units of their equipment and weaponry at the front.
