'Ukraine needs more support': Zelenskyy responds to Russia’s massive attack
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes the importance of Ukraine’s partners fulfilling their commitments to provide support and ramping up pressure on Russia
He made the statement on Telegram in response to Russia’s combined attack overnight.
“Last night, Russia launched an attack on our cities using various types of weapons—missiles, strike drones, and aerial bombs. Another wave of terrorist crimes,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The president reported that in Poltava, Russian forces struck a residential building, completely destroying one section. Ten people were injured, including children, and three were killed. Emergency services are on the scene, providing rescue and assistance.
Damage was also reported in the Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv regions. As of 10:18 a.m., six people were known to be injured. In Kharkiv, one person was killed by a drone strike, while two people lost their lives in the Sumy region due to the attack.
“Each terrorist act like this proves that we need more support to defend against Russian terror. Every air defense system, every interceptor missile saves lives. It is crucial that our partners take action, fulfill their commitments, and increase pressure on Russia,” Zelenskyy stressed.
