Zelenskyy chooses escalation, Ukrainian border guards mine Tisza bank – foreign fakes on June 7
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of new anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations launched by the world media on June 7
This was reported by Espreso TV.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on June 7, several fake news and manipulation appeared in the world.
Manipulation: The American Conservative wrote: “As things stand today, a similar choice—between a disastrous escalation or an unpalatable settlement—appears to be the only one on offer for Ukraine. And thanks to a number of developments over the course of the past two weeks, it is becoming clear that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his sponsors in Washington are increasingly intent on choosing the former over the latter”.
Refutation: With this statement, the author tries to show that Ukraine allegedly refuses to peacefully resolve the conflict, choosing instead the path of escalation. In fact, it is Russia that makes it impossible to end the war by continuing its bloody offensive on Ukrainian territories and dictating unrealistic conditions to Ukraine, such as giving up territories that the Russian army has illegally seized.
Fake: Irish journalist Chay Bowes shared a Russian staged video on his X page in the following post: “The mining of the Tisza bank by Ukrainian border guards, to keep Ukrianians in, not the Russians out, has killed the first young Ukrainian. This young boy died attempting to flee Zelenskyy, Biden, and Von Der Liars War. His blood is on their hands”.
Refutation: The video mentioned by the journalist is a fake as part of the Russian disinformation campaign about mining the banks of the Tisza River. Earlier, the Center refuted this fake and warned of a campaign aimed at sowing panic among Ukrainians and discrediting the Ukrainian authorities.
