Ukraine braces for new Kremlin disinformation campaign against Zelenskyy - Bloomberg
Ukrainian authorities are concerned that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in the crosshairs of a new Russian disinformation campaign from the Kremlin, aimed at eroding his authority
Bloomberg reported this concern, citing an unnamed source familiar with Zelenskyy's perspective.
According to the insider, Kyiv is bracing for a Kremlin-backed narrative designed to exploit doubts about the president's authority, with a specific focus on sowing discord within the Ukrainian military and undermining public trust.
At the heart of the Kremlin's campaign is an effort to undermine Zelenskyy's democratic legitimacy, especially as his five-year term concludes without a re-election vote.
The Ukrainian leader anticipates such a move by the Kremlin, even coinciding with the ongoing Russian presidential "election" this month.
“It’s not an opinion held by western partners or perhaps somebody inside Ukraine — but a narrative and program of the Russian Federation,” Zelenskyy said earlier this week. He underscored that G7 intelligence has obtained documents validating the Kremlin's scheme.
