"Azov uses Nazi symbols openly and officially": foreign fakes for July 1
The Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian narratives launched by the world media on July 1
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, on July 1, one fake and one manipulation appeared in the world.
Disinformation: US analyst Brian Berletic wrote on X: "US government-funded Voice of America showed Nazis in a recent video using US-made Javelin missiles. The US banned Azov from receiving weapons/training because they were Nazis, and only recently lifted this ban, despite Azov still openly and officially using Nazi symbols."
Refutation: The claim that the Azov Brigade consists of Nazis is a false narrative propagated by Russian propaganda to discredit Ukrainian volunteers defending their country from Russian aggression.
Manipulation: Dutch journalist Sonja van den Ende wrote on her X page: "Today, the USA issued a warning that attacks are being prepared in Europe. We all remember the terrorist attack in Russia (Crocus), where the USA allegedly warned in advance that the attack would be carried out, not directly by themselves, but through their proxies - Ukraine and ISIS-K. Will they blame Russia?"
Refutation: The journalist is promoting a narrative that implies a "Ukrainian trace" in the "Crocus" terrorist attack. However, the accusations of Ukraine's involvement in the terrorist attack still remain only accusations without any evidence. Meanwhile, the FSB's potential involvement is suggested by its longstanding connections with the terrorist organization ISIS.
- On June 27, Russian media launched disinformation accusing Ukraine of neo-Nazism.
